Super Visa

Super Visa is designed for Parents and Grandparents to visit their children/grandchildren for longer time periods. It is a multiple entry visa and lets you visit for 5 years at a time. Unlike other visitor visas, Super visa has specific requirements such as mandatory medical insurance.

Eligibility

To apply for Super Visa, you must

  • Be a parent or Grandparent of a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Apply from outside Canada and not be inadmissible
  • Have a signed letter from your Child or Grandchild that includes promise of financial support for entire length of the visit, number of people in sponsor’s household and a copy of sponsor’s Canadian citizenship or Permanent Residence.
  • Have proof of medical insurance from a Canadian company or an insurance company outside Canada approved by IRCC.
  • Insurance must have a minimum of 100000 CAD coverage and valid for at least a year from the date of entry.
  • Provide proof that Insurance premium has been paid in full or in instalments with an upfront deposit.

Financial Support

The person inviting you must demonstrate that their household meets the MNI (Minimum Necessary Income). Provided below is a list of documents that can be used as proof of funds

  • NOA or T4/T1 for the most recent tax year.
  • EI benefits statements.
  • Employment letter outlining job title, hiring date, job description and salary.
  • Bank Statements.
